Dance/Scape: A Dance for Freedom is a one-minute animation that was projected on the façade of the Million Tapis and Tuiles building in front of the skatepark on September 30, 2023 during the MAPP Montreal 2023 festival. MAPP_MTL is an international projection mapping festival that transforms public spaces into a terrain for creative expression.
The piece explores the relationship between dance, movement, and the longstanding battle for women’s social freedom in Iran. The artwork showcases the dance of women as both a symbolic and literal act of defiance against societal constraints.
