This work is one part of a larger installation created in collaboration with other artists: Andrea D’Souza & Chris Charlesworth.
In this section, I used projection mapping on a pile of compost to show a quiet cycle of letting go and renewal. Participants were invited to write down a dream, idea, or hope they were ready to release. These words were then transformed into short poetic lines and projected onto the compost.
The words slowly fade, drift, and break apart—like they’re sinking into the soil. Over time, the projections mix together, becoming part of a living, moving surface of light and earth. From this digital compost, new words sometimes appear—small signs of new dreams or beginnings.

The projection is created in TouchDesigner. Each dream shared by a participant was typed into the system, turned into animated text, and projected onto the compost. Using feedback loops, displacement, and compositing techniques, the text slowly breaks down and blends into the soil imagery, simulating digital decomposition. TouchDesigner also handles the projection mapping, aligning the visuals precisely to the physical compost form.
